Principal's Vision
We must not forget that each child has their own personality and character. I like to think of children as flower seedlings; there is an unlimited variety; each having their own fragrance, color, and distinguishing characteristics. They bloom at various times, some prefer the shade while others yearn for the sun. We must step back and observe each child without comparing them to others; it is necessary to support and assist each child in order for him/her to excel at his/her own pace and fashion. This is a critical yet a very sensitive process: It is important to value each personality and character while still maintaining a structured and firm sense of discipline in order for each student to build self esteem and confidence. Without this we can not function in this modern and fast moving world.

The wonderful combination of our kind and warm hearted teachers, small classes, excellent curriculum, and varied materials, SAIS will give your child the tools he/she needs to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow. Along with a strong emphasis on mathematics and literacy skills, our program also gives children a framework they can use throughout school, they learn to love learning.

There are many reasons why parents choose SAIS. For instance, some families will move/return abroad, some have come/returned from abroad, or some wish for their children to become bi-lingual at a young age for the international world that awaits them. Whatever the case, we not only satisfy all of our parents' needs, but we have proven that our efficient and exciting learning methods are just what our seedlings need to thrive in.

Our teachers patiently nurture the warm and cozy garden awaiting each flower to blossom.

Mission Statement
SAIS believes that education should promote the well-rounded development of individuals through the cultivation of their intellectual, creative, personal, social and physical abilities. The school is committed to educating both Japanese and foreign students to be international and independent thinkers. We believe that learning a second language provides the opportunity to grow beyond a single culture. We believe that the classroom and co-curricular activities should foster sensitivity to, and respect for, individual talents as well as differences. We believe that every student must learn to function both as an individual and as part of a group. Our ultimate goal is that every Saint Annie student learns to live harmoniously in, and contribute to, world society.

Goals and Initiatives (Curriculum and Faculty Development)
Ensure that SAIS maintains a challenging academic program of uncompromised excellence through comprehensive articulation and implementation of a dynamic, whole-school curriculum.
E Establish a formal committee, NAEYC based, responsible for the documentation and regular, structured review of the curriculum
E Develop procedures to more effectively monitor the implementation of the curriculum in each classroom
E Orient professional development to support more directly both life-long learning by the faculty and the educational goals of the school
E Assist with the placement of all Saint Annie Graduates into prestigious International Elementary Schools.
